Who: Dr. Karen Hudes, Chiropractor and Rehabilitation Specialist

Dr. Karen Hudes, Chiropractor in North York

Hi! I am your friendly neighborhood chiropractor  in North York and I have been in practice for over 22 years – most of those at 168 Sheppard Avenue West just a short walk from Yonge Street but now located in Lawrence Park at Melrose and Yonge above the Rexall at 3402 Yonge Street #301.

I am a mom to a 13 year old son who is really into hockey, I love Wonder Woman, I love to run and have a goal of continually checking things off of my “bucket list”. We welcomed a fur baby to the family in October 2020 – a sheepadoodle named George – any guesses where his name comes from? Click here to find out.

Passionate about helping people understand their bodies, recover from injuries or pain, and achieve wellness and optimal health.  Mine is a family practice and see people from every age group with problems ranging from pain in the big toe, achy knees,  back pain and sciatica, headaches and migraines just to name a few.

I love to help pre- and post-partum moms with the aches and pains of pregnancy and breast feeding and more importantly I am passionate about women’s health.

Basically if it hurts, I can help you fix it and then keep it from coming back.

How:

Using a variety of hands on tools in my practice including deep tissue techniques, fascial release and hands on adjustments, exercise and core stabilization.

I also treat people who don’t like what they think of traditional chiropractic treatment or how they may be treated by a chiropractor– I promise I have a huge knowledge base and many tools in my tool belt to help people because one of my philosophies is that when I am treating someone it is their body so they are in charge – there is always an open line of communication and dialogue with me so we can change our approach if needed and still get results.

The chiropractic treatments I offer can assist individuals with a wide range of needs, including those looking to maintain their health and well being, as well as those seeking acute pain relief from work or automobile related injuries.  More importantly, I have treated patients as young as a few weeks old to those well into their 90’s.

Super lucky to be able to have the opportunity to reach so many different people in our community!

In my practice, I use a variety of treatment tools including Diversified and Activator techniques, deep tissue techniques, scar tissue techniques, taping techniques and laser therapy. Because I am trained in ergonomics, I am also able to assist in setting up or modifying work stations in many work environments, including the home office.  Every patinet is always treated from a whole body perspective and varies each treatment to suit the individual’s needs.

I look forward to helping to answer questions and help our community by providing education about how we can be our healthiest selves for the longest possible.  Saving the world, one spine at a time.

A little more about me:

Dr. Karen Hudes, Chiropractor in North YorkI have always worked as a chiropractor in North York.  I began my chiropractic practice in February 2001 after receiving a Doctor of Chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences in Chicago, Illinois (formerly the National College of Chiropractic) on December 16, 2000.   For my designation as a Rehabilitation Specialist, I completed 3 years of training over and above my chiropractic degree which also  included research and publications. I returned to Toronto because I wanted to be close to family and began an associateship which lasted 1.5 years before moving to my 20+ year long location within  the European Health Care Centre at 168 Sheppard Ave. West in Toronto.  In February 2023 I moved to Continuum Wellness to be in the fantastic Lawrence Park area only 6 min away from my last location and am now at 3402 Yonge Street #301.

I have been in private solo practice since that time and enjoy using my skills in various venues including being involved in community volunteer work  such as being the team doctor for races (like the Subaru Adventure Challenge) and providing educational seminars for local businesses and being a local scout leader because I love to work with kids. I served on the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board (CCEB) as an Examiner and a member of the ACL committee.  This involved conducting written and practical examinations for chiropractic students prior to their licensure as doctors of chiropractic medicine.
